At noon, 20th September, the course was altered to direct

5.31.E. true, for Chilang Point lighthouse.
Point about 10 p.m. and the ship was then taken into Honghai Day,
proceeding slowly and picking up land around the Bay until
anchorage was reached off Rosshead at 1.10 a.. on the 29th.
The pirates then lowered three life boats, into which they placed
their booty and seven Chinese passengers, the 3rd Engineer, the

bo sun and 12 sailors, and left the ship at 1.45 a.m. The anchor
was then hove up and the ship cruised about the Bay waiting for
the boats to return. The boats arrived back about 6 a.m. and we
then hauled them up and proceeded to Hongkong, arriving about
noon on 29th September
The pirates declared that all Europeans would be shot
and the vessel blown up, if any war-ship came in sight, and
stated that they had bombs on board to carry out this threat.
